From Training to Triumph: The Launch of the Master Mechanics Competition

With the successful conclusion of LIG’s Mechanics in Motion workshops, we’re excited to announce the next big phase — the Master Mechanics Competition! This high-energy challenge is designed for Jamaica’s brightest aspiring mechanics as well as trained professionals to put their skills to the test and compete for a chance to win their share of $500,000 in cash and prizes.

Since the start of May, the LIG Mechanics in Motion programme has enabled students from institutions like JAGAS and HEART, alongside young professionals and auto enthusiasts from across the island. These workshops, led by LIG and our valued partners — Automotive Art, Delcour Logistics, Thompsons Trucking, PAI, Dayton Parts, and Valvoline — delivered expert guidance and practical experience in truck and automotive maintenance.

Now, it’s time to turn that knowledge into action.

Introducing the Master Mechanics Competition

Six teams of four will go head-to-head in a thrilling combination of theoretical quizzes and practical mechanic challenges, all for the chance to win a grand prize of $350,000 and earn the prestigious title of 2025 LIG Master Mechanic.

Whether you're an individual looking to join the competition or already part of a team, there’s room for you. Participants will either register in teams or be grouped by the organizers based on their skills and experience.
